You are the player. the story. the program. the human. Made from nothing but milk and love. [...] And the universe loves you. And the universe said you have played the game well.
~ Parts of "The End Poem".

The Players (any name is player-determinant; with Steve and Alex as the two default characters and models) are the main protagonists of Mojang's Minecraft franchise.

They are the playable characters used by anyone who is playing the game, and can fully customize their own skin by using the two models. They can also be dubbed as Hero of the Village if they successfully protected a village from a raid. They can also have the option to play on either single player, or local multiplayer.

Why Are They In Moral Scaling Purgatory?[]

  • The game Minecraft doesn't have a true story, as it's a simulation game where players can do whatever they want, in other words, build their very own unique story. Any actions the players take don't affect the story at all, since the story doesn't even exist.
  • While the players can do some heroic deeds, none of them are given any weight:
    • While it's stated that by killing the Ender Dragon, they will save the universe, but if they haven't killed it, the world is still fine.
    • While they can protect other creatures from harm or even save the village from illagers, the nature of them are complicated, as it can be out of genuine care or pragmatism like keeping them for food/harvesting (pigs, cows, chickens, etc.) or getting better deals (villagers).
  • While they can commit crimes such as slaughtering the villagers and destroying homes, and even killing children, these are all under player's choice, and the consenquences of these "crimes" are given no weight, since the game doesn't have a story to begin with.
  • The players have no personality or characterization to make them good and evil, since they are a vessel for a real life person to play the game. They're not technically a character, they're real-life players playing the game, and real life people are forbidden to be morally scaled thus it impossible to give the players a proper moral scaling.

Trivia[]

  • They used to be Inconsistently Admirable until it is decided the game doesn't have a story and they are vessels for real-life players.
